Meet Mr. Rothbart

Hello students, parents, and faculty! My name is Eric Rothbart, and I am the new Health and Physical Education teacher at Amity High School. Previously, I taught Phys. Ed. for three years in the town of Orange.

 

Before teaching, I graduated in 2014 from Southern Connecticut State University, and received a B.S. in Exercise Science with a concentration in Teaching. I have also received my certification in School Health Education. At Southern, I was a 4-year member of the Varsity Soccer program, an active member of the Physical Education Club, and helped run the Intramural programs on campus, among many other things.

Outside of school I am currently working on completing my Masters degree in School Health. I also coach soccer for the Cheshire Soccer Club and have been coaching there for 5 years with the premiere program CSC United.

  • Woodbridge Recreation Summer Camp - CIT and Volunteer Staff Coordinator

  • 2014 CTAHPERD Outstanding Future Professional Award Recipient

  • 2014 AAHPERD (SHAPEAmerica) Major of the Year Award Recipient

  • Received Departmental Honors in Exercise Science and graduated the SCSU Honors College by completing an undergraduate thesis on the impact of physical activity on students performance on standardized tests

  • Currently pursuing a Masters in School Health Education

  • Founding member of "TEAM Orange" - the Unified Sports program of the OESS.
